Good morning, still dark but doesn't seem to be raining. Yesterday it rained all day.
We weren't out, but defrosted the freezer and it's tidy - for now.
Izzy, sorry to read that 'Kynren' was spoiled by the intrusive woman behind you. People just don't think do they. I' ve never been to see it , but people I know who have say it's fabulous.
I'm meeting a friend at Do*bies this morning, so it'll be talk all the way.
DS did the Gnr in just under 2 hours yesterday, the weather was terrible!
Thinking of our poorly people and those struggling with life.
Take care folks.

Morning allAbsolutely pouring with rain at the moment, and not expected to stop until around 10ish this morning. DH brought loads of cooking apples home from a tree at work the other day so am going to make some apple pies to freeze today after I've picked my son up from a local garage where he is dropping off his car to have an MOT test and then dropping him off later to pick it up. Apart from that it's too wet to go for a walk so will go on my exercise bike instead.Opinions please. Freeze apple pies uncooked or after they've been cooked?Hope everyone has a good day x7

Morning All
Not as warm this morning but still bright. Yesterday got quite hot again, shame it never lasts!
I cracked on with the outside jobs - decking finished and one side of the fence painted, I was going to do the other side after work today but it looks like it might rain. Moss killer put on the block paving out the front and the grass has been cut, I'm definitely going back to work for a rest!
Sorry to hear your DDad is in hospital dp1, hope he makes a speedy recovery. Good news with the little one, she'll enjoy being at home.
Hugs to those in need, take care. XX6 -
Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. Your DS did a great run, I watched bits of it and felt sorry for the runners. My flat in Newcastle was within the first mile of the start and I used to hang out the living room window to watch. Rose bush pruning and grass cuttings all gone. The tip was really busy with people dumping garden waste. On Saturday the swallows left so the end of summer is definitely very close.@Chrisca - I don't know the answer but would suspect uncooked as otherwise the pastry may go soggy, however others may know better.@Izzy - what a shame, I would definitely have said something to that woman.@DP1 - what a rollercoaster you're on with family. I hope that your little one is home soon and that your DDad is move closer to you and feels better soon.I have no real plans from today apart from the weekly banking. No exercise class for three weeks as the leader is off on holiday so I have a gap to fill which doesn't involve housework, not that I do much anyway.Hugs to our poorlies.7

Morning everyone Scarlet your son will have been happy with his time although they are always trying to beat it I watched it not nice weather but last year it was to hot to run in the joys of running. It’s dry here but cloudy and there’s definitely a nip in the air I’m going to meet my friend for a coffee and a catch up I haven’t seen her for a fortnight she’s been away on holiday it will be non stop chat but it always is . Gers I’m sure you will find something to do you are always busy DP1 I hope the little one gets home and your DD is improving CHIRSCA I haven’t a clue but I make savoury pies and freeze them uncooked I don’t suppose that helps I freeze crumbles uncooked I’ve been no help at all I’m sure someone will come along soon and help you . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Morning everyone
Gers - I think I've had enough of this rollercoaster now - I'd like to get off!
Little one had enjoyed watching people on their way to run the Great North Run from the hospital window yesterday. She's been to watch a film in the hospital cinema and eaten all her meals....I'm hoping they get sent home today.
The weather was atrocious going down the A1 yesterday. I was a bit nervous going into the hospital but dad greeted me with a big smile and 'hello Dorothy it's nice to see you.' Well that was a relief! His speech is almost the same as it was, there were a few times we couldn't understand him, but mostly we could. The doctor has said he needs to stay in hospital at least two weeks and he seems fine with that. So now he's waiting either for a bed at our little hospital at home or another little one about 45 minutes away, but easy for mam to get to and in the town where she grew up. She's quite happy there with him, she has her book and her crochet and is getting all her meals...it's a rest for her too.
I'm sent a letter of complaint to the care company regarding the carer who was with him when it happened, so will see what the outcome of that is. This morning I'll have to go down to their house to find the number for his care manager to tell her he's in hospital, then I'll get the bus down to work.
I feel more like going back to bed as I hadn't a very good sleep, with very weird dreams.
So I'd better get on. Hope everyone has a good day today x7 -
Good Morning
I have been missing again. Real life getting in the way. Just catching up with the daily.
i have now bought my house and moved. I never want to move again it was hard work & the removal company were rubbish. So ended up taking about 10 trips with my car as they only would do 1 trip and then at the new house put all the boxes in the lounge. I had to force them to put the beds back together. Anyway we are in now.
Ds2 is now walking again, although still with a limp and not too far and not using any aids, but it’s all progress, he is following all the exercises from the physio.
we have booked a holiday to Zante so go next week for 10 days, looking forward to the break, hopefully we can do some boat trips and other excursions. Any recommendations?
mefindhan - sorry to hear about your beloved Dawn, thinking of you.
DP1 - hoping your dgd gets home today and your ddad gets moved to a more local hospital soon.
thinking of everyone else with worries and struggles.
I am now going to try and have a sleep as I’m on nights tonight. Take care one and all.

Morning
Dull and a bit chillier today.
The drawer of doom got sorted out yesterday. To my shame there was about 30 pens in there, most of which didn't work. And old receipts, some dating back to 2018. I'm sure there was a reason for keeping them. Did you know a tin of mushy peas was 15p then!
Not sure what's happening today, apart from dog walking.
Scarlet, we watched the gnr until the winners of the male and females came in. It seemed a lot more relaxed than the London marathon.
Dp1 hoping for good news about your dgd and dad today. Glad your dad and mum seem more settled.
Derek, how are you?
Love to all x5 -
Morning all(just) from Mehefinland.
Not posted for a little while so here's a quick update.
Village fete got the only sunshine of the day - not massively well attended but I suspect the weather had put people off. Went to a BBQ in the evening, and it absolutely bucketed down about 30mins after everyone arrived. All huddled under 2 gazebo's ( 1 of them mine) and dodging the cascades of water. The poor guy actually cooking was ok - think the heat from the fire kept him dry. He's a professional chef and always does the honours at this event.
DS unintentionally upset me yesterday when he asked about C*mas. He wants me to go to him in Dorset but I have declined as there is nobody available to look after the nags. It's not like a dog or cat where you can put them in kennels/cattery. Its a full on job in the winter and I certainly don't think it would be fair to ask my friend Hele although I'm sure she would be happy to do it. Just doesn't sit well with me.
Acquired some windfall Bramley cooking apples, so had a go at making a pie ( did cheat and got some ready made pastry, but it came out ok). Think I will prep and freeze the rest for future endeavours.
The decluttering goes on - I'm sure Dawn had a knack of hiding inconsequential things away. There have been some interesting 'trophies' come to light, and photos I do not remember taking, or even seeing before!!
Green waste bags tomorrow so trying to tidy up a bit of the garden but everything is so wet and soggy. Hopefully if this wind doesn't get too strong I will get chance later to add to the pile
All for now
Hugs and spoons as always

Best wishes to all the poorlies
Just a quick one - yesterday descended into chaos after a soggy looking patch in the kitchen ceiling turned out to be a leaky hot water tank. The airing cupboard is HUGE and very full - now emptied and the shelves removed. Thankfully we have a fab plumber who's already been and will hopefully do the work by the end of the week.
It has forced a huge clearout of bedding and towels which is the only good part.
DDad is driving short distances now which is a) a huge relief and b) frees me up a little.
Will be working on craft stuff for the rest of the day.
Take care
