White wash now a patchy purple! Argh!!

I have a lovely Laura Ashley bed set - pure white -well it was! Half way throw the wash I noticed it looked a bit pinky so stopped the wash and found amongst it a purple sock!

I've put it back on a boil wash minus purple sock with 4 caps of Surfs concerntrated liquid plus a good scoop of soda crystals. Any tips or recommendations on a good stain remover would be much appreciated!

If it is pure cotton or linen, I would suggest some bleach. Not very environmentally friendly, but when needs must...

Also, once the stains have been removed, if you can get some Reckitts Blue and use it according to instruction, it will make all whites truly brilliant. I've been using it for years and can swear by it. I normally buy it at the corner shop down the road.

Here is the link - please note that it says carbolic soap, but Reckitts Blue is a totally different product, and it is NOT to be used in a washing machine as this will produce no result.

This is truly an Old Style product -even my great grandma back in Italy used it! No idea what it was called there, though..

    Best of luck! :)

not very oldstyle - but you can get colour run remover from hardware shops or Woolies - made by Dylon and it works a treat.
