The prize:

The winner and guest will stay for two nights, B&B, at the Retreat at Elcot Park, the Sunday Times Hotel of the Year in 2023. On the edge of the North Wessex Downs, the Retreat has 55 rooms, and the winner and guest will stay in a sumptuous suite with a rolltop bath commanding a panoramic view. All the rooms and suites share the same zingy, Regency-flavoured colour scheme, which pays homage to the history of the hotel.

Downstairs there’s a chic cocktail bar and two restaurants: the pan-Asian Yu and the 1772 Brasserie, which offers chargrilled steaks and a dedicated plant-based menu. One dinner for two to a value of £110 is included in the prize, as is use of the hotel’s extensive spa.

The prize must be taken before September 1, 2025, subject to availability and excluding bank holiday weekends, as well as December 20 to January 3.
