LGPS AVC - Who's recommended - Standard Life or Prudential

Will be starting AVC buy from April 2025 direct from salary. My employers pension fund use either SL or Pru.
Reading various threads it seems Prudential have a horrific customer engagement and pay out problems/delays, have not read as many horror stories about Standard Life. Nevertheless, who would you recommend from your own experience / view?
Will also be doing this as salary sacrifice as it just makes sense to save on NI as well, given LPGS CARE unaffected as DB pension calculated on gross income

Standard life are new entrants to the shared cost salary sacrifice AVC model so there may not be much feedback on them. Prudential were taken over by M&G also quite recently so that may have affected their customer service (for good or bad!).

You may wish to enquire what funds they both offer. One may have a greater choice so that will be a factor to consider.0
