Marriage allowance and New job

So Ive just started a new job and at the moment we claim Marriage allowance. I am going to cancel it but wont happen til April 2025.
I have no p45 as last job was many, many years ago, But I know what my tax code is 1131N, as I am giving part of my allowance to my husband.
I was asked to fill a New starter checklist on HMRC, but when this is completed, it shows my tax code as 1257L.
How do I sort this as work are next to useless(doesnt bode well).

It will probably sort when all the info gets to HMRC0

Ok so what do I do, do I send new starter checklist form knowing the code is wrong?0

Yes, give the form to your new employer. The code is only an emergency tax code which will be adjusted by HMRC in due course. If you do not fill in the form you will have 20% of all your earnings deducted until HMRC adjust your code.Soconfused14 said:Ok so what do I do, do I send new starter checklist form knowing the code is wrong?0 -
That code isn't "wrong".Soconfused14 said:Ok so what do I do, do I send new starter checklist form knowing the code is wrong?
It is the correct code for someone who has ticked/signed statement A or B on the new starter declaration.
HMRC will review this when your new employer submits details of your first pay and issue an updated code.2
