So a new thread and linking my old, illuminating (at times very hideously dark) journey to being Debt free here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4432077/oh-my-life-light-bulb-moment/p1
What a life!
What a life!
But I’m here. Still standing. Pleased to be still in the black and aware I need to tighten my reins a little again. I’ve realised (again) that I’m an emotional shopper in the way some people are emotional eaters. And I need accountability to help me stop any slide the wrong way.
It’s a classic me early hours entry here which always indicates weary worried thinking, but actually I’m feeling pretty good. Like I’ve seen myself coming and the MSE forums are such good spaces for sharing journeys and getting support.
I’ve had legal bills and my daughter’s wedding this year. But even though those were weighty I have spent too much money outside of those things. Time to reset.
So savings goals -
£1000 by Christmas to take my savings up to £10,000.
I have to have some work done on the house that I can’t do, but even with that I will aim to save £350 a month.
Wish me strength and focus and to keep on top on impulses to soothe through shopping.
