Coin valuation

Looking through some old coins that were in a drawer, we have found an old (1860s) gold American dollar (no idea where it came from!).
I know nothing about old coins, but looking online the values for this particular coin range from a few hundred to several thousand. I would imagine this one is nearer the lower end, but would anyone know who would be able to advise on this? I’m in West Yorkshire but don’t mind going further afield.

Even when I've take old coins into places that supposedly deal with coins they will normally only quote value of the gold by weight without any consideration of what the actual item is. That should at least give you a base line to work from should you be able to find someone who can give you a better valuation.
quick google shows a number of places that do coin auctions - maybe one of these might help?

By the time both the seller and the buyer have paid the auction house fees it must be better to try to sell direct though security might be a problem0
