Octopus solar energy

Options
We are looking at getting Octopus to fit 12 solar panels with 2 x5k batteries . In comparison to other estimates Octopus appear to be competitive but unable to see how reliable they are as cannot find any reviews.
Has anyone used them and if so what was your experience e.g work quality /  remove the scaffolding on time..

Has fitting solar panels been financially worthwhile and is it necessary to fit batteries?

Many thanks

Paul

Historically, Octopus has rarely been price competitive. Add in the fact that they typically quote for JA Solar panels (which are a budget brand - I'm being extremely generous), and the value proposition just isn't there. A couple questions for you:

    1. Would you mind sharing your quote so that we can weigh in?

    2. What is your annual consumption? If it is < 4000 kWh per year and you have no plans of getting a heat pump, a battery will rarely pay for itself within warranty.  Installers won't tell you this as it often adds more % to their profit margins.
