Am on a fixed June 24 V3 and seriously can't get my head around in or out of the tracker tariff. Discounted the Agile as it definitely not for us. Have just lost the fuel allowance so its going to be very tight for us this year. Slightly put off by the x2 week delay to come out if prices shoot up. Would really appreciate it if anyone would share their thinking on this, seems marginal but then can see its been good historically.

You get different rate daily, that's it. You need smart meter. You can leave anytime to standard rate (but it can take two weeks).
Last year I switched to Agile thinking for months if it's worth or not, worrying, considering all sorts of scenarios - still on Agile. Move to Tracker and give it a go, you're not losing much, install an app called Octopus Compare which for free allows you to compare with basic tariff for the last 30 days - when you notice it's too expensive - switch back.
Rules are simple, the more windy out there, the cheaper the prices. Really hard to say if it will be cheaper or more expensive as it's a tool really, one can make it work, one cannot.2 -
Tracker's mostly about accepting the risk that rates might rise. That might not suit someone worried that bills and money might be tight this Winter, I don’t like to see Tracker being considered as a sure fire money saver. On the positive side, if you have the freedom to arrange things to suit, like doing laundry on a cheap day, you can wring a bit more benefit out of it.
If you have gas remember you can have different tariff for each fuel, you don't have to be on Tracker for both.1 -
