Now back. It's a sunny start here.
Yesterday was a lovely day, we went to the seaside - so did everyone else, it was packed!
We had fish and chips on the North Shields Fish Quay, then a long walk along the promenade. It was breezy but without that cold nip in the wind that we get so often on the East coast.
A friend came round last night, we see each other twice a week, but are still able to talk non stop.
Don't know what's going on today, might go out again.
Thinking of our sad and poorly people, and those who are struggling with life..
Take care folks.

Morning All
A quick one from me, I'm off to visit my new Granddaughter, they came home on Wednesday, thanks for all the well wishes.
Glorious morning but it was cold during the night and there's a heavy dew on the grass, hoping it will dry up so I can cut the grass later. Washing just about to finish, a couple of floor mats have already been done and are on the sun lounger to dry - glad I've found a use for it this summer!
Hope your jab does the trick Gers.
I love the seaside and fish and chips Scarlet, we did that last week.
Glad you found the certificate Mehefin.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX8 -
Morning all, blue sky againSetting off in a mo to travel to DGS last friendly footie match before their league starts in earnest next week. Home for a bit after then off to the match this afternoon. I'm meeting with my oldest friend beforehand so she can give me a belated birthday present. She's struggling to drive atm with a bad neck making it hard to turn, but her DH drives down to the match.DH actually bbq'd our pork fillet for tea last night, I would think it was the last of the 'summer'Better rush. but take care all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all. I've been awake for ages but trying to stay asleep. 😀
I haven't got any plans for today though I'm hoping to go for a walk, fingers crossed that it's pain free. I've lost so much fitness so I'm quite wary now for another reason. One step forward and a half back. Yesterday I did two small washes and set the DW going too. The woollens are almost dry and the delicates are back in the drawers. I almost went shopping but decided after four miles that I really CBA doing the other 58 miles so diverted to the lovely cafe for a bacon roll and cup of coffee. Pathetic really but so delicious.@Camelot - that's great news. Have a splendid time.Hugs to everyone.7 -
Morning all from a sunny Mehefinland
Collected Dawn's ashes from the FD yesterday - she is now lying in state in the dining room whilst we decide what to do. No uniformed guardsmen though!! It was strange brinnging her 'home' , I thought I would be more upset than I was.
Called in Building society whilst in town and got her Isa transfer sorted.
Dug out some old dining chairs from the cupboard of doom for someone on FB desperate for some. Gave her some dining plates etc as well. Seems to be a lot of people in the area setting up home, or being re-housed with very little to their name. A sign of our times perhaps. I don't know, but we have a large recent population of resettled refugees in the area. Some of the Afghans in particular have had a harrowing time - I was told of one family that moved house every night for 3 years as they were being hunted by the Taliban. You can not begin to imagine what that must have been like. These are people who helped British forces whilst they were in their country, not economic refugees as is so often seen crossing the Channel.
Just back from dropping off NDN at the nearest motorway services on the M4. She is off to Windsor on a coach trip. Back tomorrow evening. I expect I will get the call, which I don't mind at all.
Helped a neighbour de-spider her outside bar yesterday afternoon. She has a morbid fear of our 8 legged companions! There were some pretty big ones admittedly. This all in preparation for a wedding anniversary bbq, to which i am invited. I will see how I feel nearer the time, it seems odd to be considering going out on my own so soon.
My lovely friend Hele scared the bejesus out of me this morning as she appeared when I was mucking out, and I hadn't heard her arriving. She was coming up to do the chores, bless her. I didn't know she had planned it, but she will have to get up earlier to catch me out again!!
Right, off to deliver these chairs.
Hugs and spoons as always

Gers, I had a realisation yesterday that I had been avoiding going out for a walk. I think I'd lost confidence after my foot op last year. I need to make an effort to push myself more. We went to Aysgarth falls so it was only about five miles but I was aching by the end ( not helped because I fell down a couple of steps the night before and wrenched my knee).
The scaffolders are supposed to be on their way, so the work will be going ahead on Monday. Hopefully it will be finished on Tuesday so we can go home.
Camelot, enjoy baby cuddles.
Have a good day.8 -
Morning folks. I'm a latecomer this morning but, sadly, not because I had a sleep in! I decided to get the first bus down into town for a few bits I was in need of. It was very quiet everywhere at that time.
After an absolutely glorious day yesterday, when I even got too hot sitting out reading, we are going downhill again. It's fine and quite warm in the sun but feeling nippy out of it. I think we have booked our imminent few days in Scarborough a few days too late to expect decent weather! Never mind it will still be nice spending time with DD and all 3 DGDs whatever the weather!
No plans for today except the usual pottering on with this and that and packing a few clothes. Take care all and ((HUGS)) for all in need. CAMELOT enjoy your baby cuddles with your new DGD, you couldn't be doing anything nicer. xx
