Housing Factors Solicitor's Conflict of Interest
My housing factor (Scotland) have had a solicitor ‘re-interpret’ our developments title deeds. The ‘re-interpretation’ to the title deeds is claiming that water ingress from one flat into another flat is now deemed communal and should be split amongst all homeowners in three blocks instead of being split between the two affected properties.
The housing factor is refusing to divulge the name of the solicitor that ‘advised’ them but admits that he is a homeowner in the development and it is common knowledge that he is friends with the affected flat owner (who is also a solicitor) and the surveyors report names him as ‘a fellow owner’.
The housing factor have disregarded all objections to this re-interpretation. Before anyone suggests, I can’t afford to pay for legal advice.
Any thoughts advice in going forward would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

This isn't something I'm familiar with and don't have much time this weekend to research.
Does this link help:

If not, it may be worth discussing your actual issue with Shelter.

You and other residents may consider making a complaint to the Law Society about the solicitor. Even the threat of doing so might make them think again. Just a thought.0

Do you have Legal Protection with any of your own insurance policies, they may be able to advise.0
