APC LGPS - maxing it out (edited)

Background: Additional Pension Contribution (so defined benefit addition)
Took out a 3 year APC for £3400, completed this few months ago and taken out another over 4 years for another £3800. This when completed in 2028 will take me close to current (2024) APC max.
My question is:
As the maximum APC will increase over the next 4 years (CPI inflation ?) will I be allowed to then take out another APC to what will be the 2028 APC max? Appreciate I am then always chasing the 'moving target' APC max but I recon a further third tranche over 2-3 years would get me close to £9K APC in time for my retirement target age.

I know I missed a trick by not taking out a 7 year APC over 3 years ago as this second 4 year tranche is costing me more per month for a lesser accrual rate, but it was a bit of a fear of unknowns over a 7 year period, but hey ho such is life.

So am I correct that once current APC complete in 2028. I will be able to take out another APC as long as it means I don't exceed the latest maximum.

The reason I ask is that as a member accrues each years APC amount it is then adjusted on 1st April with the September CPI, (in line with CARE rules) so in effect the pension APC value is rising in any case. So when I go to undertake the 3rd tranche of APC, is the original values of APC taken (£3400 + £3800 = £7200) then used as the value already purchased, or is the compound interest applied to previously purchased APC in determining what a member can still purchase.

e.g. for example lets say in 2028 the maximum APC that can be purchased has risen to £9K:
Scenario 1 - original values of APC used in calculating how much a member has previously bought would mean I could purchase a further £1800 APC (£9000 - £7200 = £1800)
Scenario 2 - compound interest is applied on all previous APC bought when a new application made. For arguments sake lets say the £7200 already bought has by compound interest risen to £7500 by 2028, so only £1500 of any tranche 3 APC purchase would be allowed (£9000-£7500 = £1500)
