Bank Statement Requirements for Mortgage Application

Hello, I am in the middle of the process of a house purchase and I am providing proof of source of funds to my broker. My parents contribute to part of the deposit and one of the accounts involved in the trail of funds is a passbook saving account (I know it's not common in the UK but it's still used in where I come from). With this account we can only provide transaction history report and the passbook copy, but my broker has rejected some other transactions statement and screenshot before, so I am worried that this will be rejected. Anyone has similar experience before? I don't understand why they reject an official document also from the bank which can serve the same purpose.
Thank you for the advice in advance!

Your broker should advise you what is needed, and help explain any lack of documentation to the lender. As part of the mortgage application the lender assesses your affordability. They want to see your salary coming into your current account, as well as how much goes out on bills and general living costs. If the lender has no visibility of your cashflows I think it is highly unlikely your mortgage application gets approved1
