Gift cards

Hello everyone
I’m new here and looking for some advice. I hope someone can help.
I recently bought an iPad that included an 80.00 gift card. The £80.00 was deducted from the total amount i paid and was returned to me in the form of a gift card.
I have redeemed the gift card and purchased the pencil pro which only works on the new iPads released this year.
I have had a few issues with the iPad and eventually got a replacement. I learned that other people had issues too and the company were fully aware of this, but they could not fix the issue when reported.
Since using the replacement iPad, I had the same issues. I have no returned both the iPad and pencil for a refund.
However, my issue is that 80.00 will be returned back to me as store credit, not a cash refund,
I wonder if i am entitled to a cash refund instead because the iPad is faulty which could not be fixed when I first reported the issue. The company has confirmed that they cannot issue the 80.00 back as a refund, only store credit.

So you spent let's say £1000 and got iPad and £80 gift card, returned laptop and received £920 (because you've used the giftacrd which was part of a bundle), then wanted to return pencil and they offered credit/giftacrd instead.
It's always tricky when there are giftcards involved.. But I think what they're doing is sadly right - giftcards are not refundable, the pencil is and as you purchased it with giftcard that's what they refund as. That's probably the reason why it was £1000 + £80 giftcard rather than £920..
