Hi we have solar panels, with a solar panel attached to hot water tank. last month we had not hot water and discovered the batteries needed replacing in the iboost as the panel was not connecting. Replaced and since we have had hot water but not if is not sunny. The boiler is not kicking in take over. I have tried to google to work it out and I am hopign that I reset something when fiddling with the panel but cannot work out what. Plesae can anyone advise? I am clueless with boilers and solar panels - they are new to me.

Depending on the weather I have a rough idea if we have hot water without running a tap. I check the figures on the IBoost to see how much has been diverted eachday around 5pm. For around 8 months of the year we can pretty much rely on the IBoost.
Based on what I see, we might have to put the boiler on for an hour to get a tank full of hot water. I do this through Hive on my phone.
Was your system set up to do it automatically if the IBoost had not heated your Tank?3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds1 -

thankyou for your help. We have had the solar panels since 2019 with no problems. I set the thermostat to come on twice a day and we have hot water during those times.
We have never had a problem before, I have never taken any notice or what water is heated by the boiler and what is heated by solar panels because it has been seamless. (to my knowledge) My thermostat is set to come on twice a day. If we need extra we press a button and we have it, irrespective of whether it is sunny or not.You are right - our system must have been set up so that the boiler heats up the water tank if the iboost has not. Changing the batteries or possibly fiddling with the buttons on the panel in frustration has cancelled out this programming but I have no idea how to set it back up again.
I will send some photos tomorrow but if you ahve any advice it would be gratefully received

I set the boiler water temp slightly lower than the immersion , setting the boiler to only heat water after 6 pm likewise we hardly ever use the boiler to heat water from April to November0
