Stratford (London) to Colchester - cheapest to travel by contactless or buy a card or Trainline

Is it cheaper to pay by contactless to travel peak hours on rail or buy tickets online?

Comments

  • Colchester is not in the contactless area, so you will need an actual ticket.

nb there are better alternatives to Trainline, which charges wholly avoidable fees.

    Hi mate
Can you recommend these sites that are better priced than Trainline?

Buy direct from the train company websites, in this case Greater Anglia. None of the train company sites charge fees. The fares will be the same, trainline's motto 'you won't find cheaper online tickets' is because they sell them at the same price as the train companies....

As stated, Colchester is outside the London contactless area so you need a real ticket, paper or electronic.
