What will happen if I move to Spain and stop paying my DMP  with PayPlan?

Half of London`s armed robbers moved to Spain to avoid the law, I don`t think you have much to worry about.

But as to what will happen in your case, not much, letters will go to your old address, you might get some CCJ`s, as time goes by a few more collection attempts might be made, eventually they will move on to someone else.

After 6 years the debts will vanish from your UK credit file, any judgements will too, debts will become statute barred, or unenforceable due to time, everyone will move on.

That`s about it really, what were you expecting to happen?

Threats of court action are over-exaggerated generally, by those who want to scare people

In the event of a creditor learning that a debtor has moved permanently abroad, they will have to think whether spending money on a court claim is throwing good money after bad. 

Most will just move on to harassing their UK-based customers

Assuming you only have a British passport, you may want to have a rethink anyway.

I have no assets in Uk, or Spain. I own absolutely nothing. 😊 I guess I’m not worth bothering with on the Costa del Crime.

I am a permanent resident here in Spain no intention of ever moving back to UK. I’m done!
