Morning Scarlet and all,Welcome, Remmie.
Been up for ages as I had three bad dreams after another, so I gave up and got up; now sat with a cup of tea trying to destress.
It’s not raining too hard at the moment, but it is supposed to be heavy rain for a few hours. So it will be a day of indoor jobs, I have plenty to do, things like ironing and decluttering. I do need to visit mum this afternoon as when I went over yesterday she was out on a trip, which was nice to discover.
Take care all,

Good morning from an already hot SW Germany. Thanks for starting us off @scarlet.The flight wasn't too horrendous - apart from the screaming young boy in front of me. He was teething and probably the air pressure wasn't helping. Then there was a poor man who had his leg in a full leg cast so had trouble moving and resting. He was on his way home to Boston after having spent six days in Stornoway hospital. I booked wheelchair assistance which made my journey through the airports fairly smooth. The worst part was the drive from Frankfurt to near Heildeberg. An accident ahead snarled us up for over two hours but we made it eventually. A brief family meal with two cousins, one nephew, one wife of cousin and one daughter of other cousin was lovely as we sat outside to eat. I haven't done that since at least last summer.I had a really funny tummy since Thursday so hardly ate anything, even last I only had two mouthfuls of the evening meal. Today's the day! Party frock is hanging up and I'm ready for it.I hope that everyone is doing well.11

Morning again, it seems fine outside and the wind has dropped. I'm glad I didn't tidy the garden on Thursday as I'd intended, because it's now a bit of a mess, because of leaves and odd bits of rubbish that the wind has blown in.
We went to Do*bies yesterday for coffee, we had considered walking there, takes about 45 mins, but it was too windy. We chickened out and used the car. I like a look round there, but didn't buy anything.
Derek, I'm pleased that the funeral went as well as it could. Hope you've managed to get some rest, you'll be physically and emotionally exhausted.
Dp1, Hope your dg d is starting to recover. Your Dd must be worn to a shadow, poor girl.
I don't know what's happening today, no plans have been made - might do the garden if it's calm outside.
Thinking of our sad and poorly people, take care folks.12 -
Hi Gers just seen your post, glad you're safely there, Hope your stomach settles down and you can enjoy your holiday xx.11

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for kicking off. And a warm welcome to REMMIE. Looking forward to getting to know more about you.
It's fine here and no wind. We had enough yesterday thank you! No damage other than some upturned pots at the back but there was lots of rubbish blowing about from blown over recycling bins. The storm was forecast so why don't people secure their bins! I had a nice afternoon with the DGDs as usual before they are back over to the caravan this afternoon until Thursday. Next w/e we are all off to Scarborough for a couple of days before it's return to school time.
Supermarket sweep day with DS today, brought forward a day as it's the annual family fun day at his cricket club tomorrow. He is off to the wholesalers early doors this morning for a mountain of supplies for the event, then once back we are off to the sm. I hope it's not too busy.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of one. Dp1 I hope you all slept better last night and DEREK it was good to hear all went well with Dawn's celebration of life. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning allIt's going to be a wet one today according to the weather forecast :-(Nothing planned today. DH will be coming to stay over the weekend at my DS's where I'm dog sitting so he'll take the big 'un out for a long walk as he's too boistrous for me with my dodgy knee to walk. Throwing the ball in the garden for him gives him enough exercise at the mo, though.Welcome Rennie, you'll enjoy it here.Hope everyone keeps dry and have a good day x11

Morning All
It was absolutely bouncing with rain this morning when I woke but the sun is shining now, I think it'll be a day of sunshine and showers.
I've just spoken to DS1, I have a new Grandaughter - a little early but healthy at 8lb 6oz. All well but I'll wait until I'm completely over this covid/cold before I visit. (I had a completely negative test this morning thank goodness).
Not sure what's going on today, we may have a family visit to the beach for fish and chips - the fresh air would be good, just need the rain to stay away.
Welcome Remmie.
Glad you arrived safely Gers, enjoy your trip.
Happy holidays Ruby.
Happy gardening Scarlet.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX13 -
Morning. Many thanks for the warm welcome.
Raining here, so other than walking the dog I cant see much happening. Dh will have cabin fever as he likes to be out and about, I'm happy to just potter indoors this weather. My Dd and family are of to the I of W for a weeks holiday, hope it brightens up for them.
Thinking of Mehefin, take care of yourself.
Sending love to dp1 and family, hope little one is feeling better.
Gers, enjoy the party.
Love to everyone else x

Good morning all from Mehefinland.
You were all right of course, I do feel drained both physically and emotionally. However with large animals to care for there is no rest for the wicked. (OMG cliche).
As we left the crematorium on Thursday ( Gosh was it only Thursday?!) the FD gave we a large envelope saying something about the attendees being a generous lot.. I opened it in the evening after the dust had settled and DS had started his journey home. There was over £400 inside!
Had to return the poetry books to the library in the market town where there is a CRUK shop, so I popped into see them and asked how they dealt with money donations. They are more than happy to take the cash, so I will go back next week after adding the families' contribution.
A touching thing which occurred yesterday - my little road has a Wattsapp group, and many of them came to the ceremony. Yesterday morning a photo pops upon the group, of a sunflower plonked into a 2ltr milk carton with the comment "Mum, couldn't find a vase". This triggered them all off, and subsequent pictures were in vases, various receptacles, and best of all 1 in a gin bottle , and 1 in a wine bottle. I commented back that Dawn would have approved of the last two! It was a fitting tribute and nice to think that my efforts in bringing some lightness to a sad day had brought results.
Gers. I last saw Heidelberg from a river cruise when I was 16. It looked a fascinating place from the water. Sadly we didn't stop there. I was on a school trip ( remember them!) supposedly to Oberammergau ( I had hoped to see the Passion play) but for some reason we ended up at Innsbruck. I have forgotten the reasons why, but suspect it was the cost amongst other things.
It looks like its going to be dreary day and the weather is closing in. Will find something to do, although its very sporadic and bitsa at the moment.
Hugs and spoons as always.

Not a lot happening today it’s dull with showers forecast I’ve got plenty of inside jobs to do . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7
