You need to tell us where you are in the country. People will only be able to recommend advisors that they have used personally, and you won't want a recommendation for someone that is too far away from you as you will need to meet them.

Personal recommendations are the best, so checl with friends and family if they have used anyone who has been good. Please make sure whoever you use is an Independent Financial Adviser.

If you are considering transfering a final salary/defined benefit pension that might have a transfer value of above £30,000, you will need a Pensions Transfer Specialist. Make sure the adviser you engage has the necessary qualifications if you need this sort of advice.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Most IFAs are small localised companies of 1-5 advisers.  They have the internet coverage similar to your local independent butcher.  Indeed, many will have virtually no internet coverage.

The regional and national salesforce FAs dominate the directories and you want to avoid them.

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.
