Places to exercise using TRX/resistance bands

Options
Hi,

I'm trying to reduce my costs as I have a gym membership for last 10 years but some months I used it 4 days week and other months I do not go at all.

So I purchased some resistance bands, TRX, mat and foam roller and thought I would exercise outside the home somewhere as at home it's very difficult to motivate myself to do anything.

I was thinking of using the park, but it will be getting cold and dark early soon. I thought about using the library (a quiet area/quiet rooms) or other such places.

Can anyone give me any ideas of where else indoor (on the downlow) I could exercise??

I can’t see places like libraries letting you rock up with exercise mats unless you are willing to pay for a space.

As a regular library user I’m not wanting to turn up to look for a book and a quiet space to have someone grunting and sweating away in the corner.

Have you worked out over the 12 months how your usage works out on average?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

If you can't motivate yourself at home, why would going to a library / park be different?

Have you tried using calendar appointments to motivate yourself for a home session...

we have a small local library and upstairs is usually empty as it's just a few tables, a quiet room and a meeting room. I've sat in the quiet room before to read and was left undisturbed . I don't normally grunt during exercise :-)

I have been a member for 10 years and I've probably not used the gym at all for 7 of those years, the other 3 years it has varied from 4-5 times a week (but this only lasts for a few months), but usually 1 (or maybe 2) times a week max.

The problem you're going to have with many of these places is that their public liability insurance won't cover people grunting and sweating in the corner - as that's not what people usually do in libraries. As a result you'll probably be asked to leave (and not return)

Does your current gym offer classes? I personally find it hard to motivate myself to go to the gym unless it's to attend a class with a fixed start and finish time.

I suspect any area in the library is likely to be unsuitable.
Even if we don't realise, most people groan or breathe heavily or such like during exercise, even low impact stretching.  If we are not pushing ourselves the value of the exercise is less.

While the weather is good, open spaces could be very suitable.  I realise you will find that harder as the weather draws in.

Some of your comments seem to indicate that it is the initial motivation / getting side tracked that has been a challenge so maybe a set time to exercise would help.  If the gym is not the right solution, are there any more social exercise classes in a church or community hall?
