I have just been sorting out some items and found some fake nails with and expiry date of jan 2018.  I assume that is for the glue?

Now a secondary question if it's just the glue that has expired.  This is a bit of a strange one. I want to wear these nails for about an hour at a time, a couple of times a week with out using glue.  I wont really be using my hands to do much.  So it does not need to be super strength but something that I can do with out damaging my own nails and look good at the same time

Boots sell sticky tabs for false nails that are easily removed. They are no good for long term use but an hour or so at a time they should be fine

Yes that's them. A small pull will remove them which is why they won't work for long term use, but will last a night out.
