Morning. Thanks for starting us off @scarlet.I slept for most of the day yesterday and right through the night. A cold suddenly arrived and now it gone straight to a cough. No, not Covid thank goodness.Today my cleaner is coming and I'm having my nails done. Then the final packing. I'm going to wrap the table clothes in tissue paper.Sorry I've missed so much. I hope that everyone is doing fine.10

Hi, I'm back, not a bad morning here.
I haven't posted for a few days, I've been under a black cloud of doom, but trying to pull myself out of it.
I haven't read back much, so I'll do that later.
Mehefin/Derek, I'd often wondered about the origin of your user name! I'm another Chris/Christine, it was a popular name back in the mists of time when I was born. Glad to see that you're getting it all organised for Dawn's funeral. A sad time indeed.
Dp1, sorry to see your dg d has been in hospital, she's having a bad time of it.
Hope you're settled in back at work Camelot.
We might go to Beamish Museum today, it's a while since were there.
Thinking of our sad and poorly people, take care folks.12 -
Morning all. Thanks for starting us off Camelot. Hope your cold doesn't spoil your trip Gers.Must get up in a mo and feed the menagerie. 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 love birds, fish and a tortoise. Feel like Dr Doolittle!Dropped the remote between the recliner settee cushions last night so on my hands and knees with a torch (after ringing DS at the airport to ask where a torch was I could use) trying to get it out of the ironwork underneath. Eventually had to lay on the dog cushion as the wooden floor was too hard for my bones! What a palava! Got it eventually. Hope today goes more peacefullyTake care all x11

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I was sharing your big black cloud as I was under it too last week. Like you I am doing my best to beat it. It's horrible feeling like that. Well it's better than forecast this morning as the sun is shining and we have blue sky. Though it says we may get drizzle later.
I am thinking of Dp1's littlie and hoping she gets the emergency op today and fingers crossed it helps. She is such a brave little soldier.
It's bus trip day today so no doubt Skipton again. We have promised ourselves we will try somewhere different for lunch but we say that every time and find ourselves back in our favourite spot with the unreliable service!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. GERS I hope your cold/cough is short lived. But summer bugs seem to linger round for longer for some reason. DEREK I know how you will be feeling today, tomorrow will be constantly on your mind. We will all be thinking of you. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all, nice to see you back Scarlet, sorry you have been visited by the black dog.
Gers I too hope the cold/cough abates soon and you can enjoy your time away.
Chrisca glad you managed to eventually retrieve the remote.
I was awake at daft o'clock and I have already had some breakfast, I usually only have a cuppa and a biscuit but I was hungry this morning. I've also hung out the load of washing which I did last night, didn't want to wash it too early this morning as I didn't want to risk waking the neighbours who are off school and uni. I don't think they can hear anything but didn't want to chance it, they are so quiet and never bother us with any noise.
The sun is shining but there's a feeling of autumn in the air so today we are going out to a car part shop as Mr Fix It is servicing the car with his friend on Sat and needs some oil, filters etc. I'm hoping to go and have a wander in a local retail park, not to buy anything specific but you never know what may catch my eye. There is a TK Max and a Next store plus some new ones so it would be rude not to have a look ! I may also treat us to a beverage if the coffee shop is not full, it does get rather busy.
Hugs to anyone in need, take care all

Morning! Kind of sunny, kind of not...I'm back to forgetting what day it is and trying to sort out everything that has come along at once. Todays jobs are new ravel insurance [ after they took a renewal out early because I couldn't get into the account to cancel it], new mobile phone sim only deal [ hello Tesco no roaming fees, goodbye stupid money vodafone - unles they can match the price, I doubt it] , plumbing place to look at panelling, clothes sorting out, Id have to check the lists for what else. Oh, order euros, book a pedicure [ got to have pretty princess feet for the wedding], get the insurance printed off [ no printer so to the shop it is] and make lots of tea and bacon sarnies...And hoover, it's a tip here, dirty and dusty.Gers, what a pain! Fingers crossed for swift expulsion of cough, hope the expected rough weather isn't too bad...Scarlet, good to see you, srry you've been down, enjoy the visit...Chris, if there's any metal in the sofa, stick a magnet on the back of the remote and just snap it something, my pro tip for the day...dp1, poor thing, she could do with a break, hope they can help without too much intrusion...Rosy, I feel your friends pai, mine has gone too the last couple of weeks, hope hers gets better soon..mehefin, tears are good, [apparently there are three different types, who knew] I'm glad you got a good celebrant who is simpatico with you and Dawn. Izzy, what are your plans for this weekend? Peony, it's kind of relentless isn't it, the choosing and doing and organising. Nanny, good to hear he's brighter, hopefully you can relax a bit...TA, happy food hunting
sorry you've been down too...nancy, hope you've slimmed down the demands on your time too, that the housemates might have stepped up just a little bit Take care all, shout to the MIA, topsy, bella et al....

Morning all
Nice day here but rain due tomorrow and for the rest of the week I have a load in the wm which can be hung out when done.
I am off to get my toe nails painted today, my nail lady doesn’t do feet so I have booked in with a new lady so I hope she is good, my finger nails will be done Friday with my normal lady as she is the best around here and has a huge waiting list.
Dinner tonight will be quiche baked sweet potato and salad trying to use up all the odd bits I have left before we are away.
DP1 I hope little one gets her op today and all goes well x
Derek these next few days are going to be tough for you, we are all thinking of you xxx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Morning All
Good to see you back Scarlet, you were missed. Hope you're feeling a bit brighter.
Boo to the cold Gers, just when you're going away.
Enjoy your day out TA.
I really need my toenails done Ruby, I'm envious! When I took the nail polish off a few weeks ago I discovered a fungal nail infection again so am on long term anti-bs to try and clear it up.
Fingers crossed the little one's op goes ahead today dp1, will be thinking of you. Please let us know how she gets on if you can.
I'm still testing positive so another day at home for me although I really need to go shopping, DS1 and his DP are arriving tonight - I'll stay out of their way. I don't have any face masks left so I'll put a scarf round my face and be as quick as possible.
There's a white wash to go on when I've had a shower but it will have to stay inside as we're due more bad weather today and I'll have to disinfect the house for my visitors!
Take care. XX10 -
Morning all from Mehefinland
Well got the car insurance and tax sorted yesterday after an extremely long phonecall ,and an interminable amount of time on hold whilst the poor guy at the other end tried to sort out the problem. It struck me that my situation must occur regularly, and you would think they would have the procedures in places to deal with it! (and the bloody music was aweful!!) .
DS and the not so Toxic Troll are travelling up tomorrow morning ( might have to rethink a name for her), and I have to ring the manager at our local Co-op this morning to remind him about my order of sunflowers.
Got my neighbour's son organised to feed the animals tomorrow afternoon at their normal time as we will be at the ceremony. He is coming up today for a dry run just to make sure. He's a sensible boy and I know that he will be ok. I will leave everything ready anyway, so it will just be a matter of chucking them a bucket, and changing a haynet each .Anything else can wait till later.
Sauteed some potatoes last night, but must have had my oil a bit too hot. House stinks like a chip shop when I came back in from the field this morning!! That will teach me for trying to be clever!
I must admit I am not looking forward to tomorrow, but in a peverse sort of way I am. I keep telling myself its just a part of the process, but as many of you will know, its tough.
Donated a whole bag of unused underwear to my NDN who works in a local care home. She was delighted, as she says things are always going missing. When I can face the clothing mountain ( Dawn rarely threw anything out unless it was completely unsalvageable) I shall see what may be suitable for her again then, although the intention is to pass most of it to the local Cancer Research Uk shop where it can hopefully raise some money.
Thats all for now. Healing wishes to the poorlies, especially DP's little one.
Hugs and spoons as always
Derek aka Mehefin

Hello everyone
Just having a second slow morning in the campervan.
