ASDA refunded to eVoucher instead of Gift Card

There are a few old threads on this already, so it seems it is still a problem. Had an online shop with ASDA with 2 missing frozen items so requested a refund. Part of the shop was paid with a Gift Card (2 year expiry date, use in-store and online) and the rest by Credit Card.
The part paid by Credit Card was fully refunded due to these missing items and other out of stock items. It left a small amount to go back to the Gift Card; this was an explicit option which I selected when reporting the missing items as ASDA say this can take longer than an eVoucher (you can also request an eVoucher). However, they have refunded to an eVoucher (use online only within ~8 months). It's not as flexible as a Gift Card refund.
As I say, only a small amount, but for people using discounted Gift Cards through various schemes it may pay to have a bit of buffer value in case large amounts get trapped on shorter expiry eVouchers that you cannot use.
