PayPal Credit in default but no longer on account?

I'm helping my partner settle out some debts and his credit report shows him owing PayPal Credit but when we've logged into the account, there's no balance showing.

How do we go about paying it off? I'm guessing the debt has moved to a recovery company but we have no idea who it would be.

  • Hi, I have a Paypal debt. It was really hard to find the account number and everything, and hard to find out where I would get it from. It was a few years ago now and my memory is a bit rubbish, but I think I had to go through web chat, phone some obscure number and those sorts of things to get it.

It's not on a different email address and a different account is it?

I think others will advise you to wait for a letter about it, because that's the important bit, someone will come along soon and walk you through it.

It's possible the debt has been sold on but the credit report hasn't been updated to show this.

Wait until someone writes to you asking for money, that`s all you can do.

My Paypal was sold to Moorcroft after my first missed payment, not defaulted yet and heard nothing from them in the past 6 months. I’m doing DMP with SC though.
