Morning Rosy and all to follow.
Looks to be a nice day it has been raining in the night but seems to have blown over now, dd text me that it was 40deg in Tenerife yesterday 🌞 which is a bit too hot 🥵
Two people coming today and we had planned a nice walk and a picnic lunch so I will see if they still fancy that, otherwise we have some friends we could meet for coffee and a mooch around the shops.
Dinner tonight will be some salmon steaks with stir fry veg and some cous cous. House is fairly tidy will just need to run the hoover over.
Hope Gers and Camelot are both safe after the storms xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning is everyone having a lie in? Pooch got me up at 6.15. I took her out around 7. It's quite breezy and cool but no rain so far.DH is working quite near to home, which he's glad about because the traffic on a big roundabout further up had tailbacks due to roadworks which will last a while- DS2 and another worker will have to detour . Seem to be roadworks all over the town atm, a lot due to replacing gas pipes. DS will have a later start anyway as DGS needs taking to a football (what else
) camp in the other direction. He enjoys these & usually knows quite a few of the other participants.
My neighbour said I could use her bin whilst they're away for any stuff I want to get rid of. I've made a start but I'm sure there should be a lot more.Yesterday morning my oldest friend rang to say she didn't think she'd make driving down here in time for my birthday next week as her neck is giving her trouble, making it hard to turn. I understood as DH gets like that sometimes. Told her it's fine, we can always meet at football at the end of the month as her DH will drive then. We had a good chat anywayI've got some salmon out of the freezer.I hope they've de-boned properly as it's from a different stall to the one I tend to go to and last time DS nearly got a bone stuck in his throat! Need to do my Oc do order soon to utilise my midweek free delivery pass, and tidy the fridge.Hope all is as well as it can be for you all, nice to 'see' some unfamiliar faces yesterday, keep on posting!:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning All
Safe and sound here Ruby, heavy rain during the night but I think the strong winds didn't appear. More rain due for the next few days. I've put a wash load in but I think it will be staying inside. All the windows are open to give the place a good airing but it's a bit chilly!
I'm still testing positive so will work from home again, got quite a lot done yesterday from the peace and quiet of the sofa.
Great choice of tunes Mehifin, Marc Bolan lived near me and I was devastated when he died. Hope you are managing to wade through all the paperwork.
Hugs to you, the little one and your DD dp1, hope there's better news today.
Take care. XX11 -
Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Rosy. Yesterday the rain and wind wasn't as bad as forecasted, still pretty rough. Wednesday looks be the howler with yellow weather warnings plastered everywhere.I had a most peculiar night. First I was freezing cold for ages. Then I've been up five times to pee. Perhaps it the full moon pulling water out of me. I'll be having a quiet day though I have to got out later this afternoon.I hope that everyone is doing OK. XX10

Morning folks and thanks ROSY. I think we are due an all-sorts type of day today. Drizzle, cloud, bits of sun and breezy. Currently the sun is trying to get out so hope it lasts. .Fortunately it still feels mild. I hope our two friends north of the border didn't suffer too badly from the storm last night. I have just read that we are promised a scorching September but do we believe that?!
No plans for today but of course there are always a few jobs waiting if I cba. First though I must fill my dossett boxes for the next fortnight.. Tedious job but needs must. It doesn't seem two minutes since I did them two weeks ago. How time flies by.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly family or fed up. Thinking of DEREK and Dp1 as always. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning everyone,
Woke up early but haven’t achieved anything, just sat around. I have started a crochet stole/shawl for MIL, so I guess that’s good. I am finding it hard to get motivated these days, I have stuff to do, but I can ‘t be bothered! I think I will set the timer and get a list going to see if this helps me get going….
So, plans for today are to sort out the bits to go to the charity shop, tidy up the sitting room and remember to cook cottage pie as DH will be hungry after playing golf. Also, need to do admin stuff which I put off after I was ill last week, so funeral directors, pension people and local council to request more recycling bags.
Thinking of you all and take care.

Morning all from Mehefinland.
Bucketing down here in really sharp, vicious showers. Certainly heavier rain than I was anticipating. Poor horses looked like drowned rats when I left them out this morning, but in fairness it was ok when I let them out!
My celebrant has sent across her words for me to sanity check this morning. Sat here in floods of tears reading the lovely tribute she has put together. Hope I don't lose it on Thursday as I have a few things I want to say at the end of the ceremony ( she has said she can take over if needed).
Otherwise its grinding through the list of to do things. Still need to get the car insurance sorted, and the bank told.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all, we had heavy rain at 6pm last night which it didn't stop all night but it's only mizzzling now. We had a lovely time with DGD but my can she talk, I don't know who she follows, it surely can't be me 🤣
I had a late night (2.30am) as I was reading my book, I couldn't put it down and just had to finish it so if anyone needs a good read try the Housemaid by Freida McFadden. I shall now start on her second novel as I'm staying off the computer a bit because of my still painful neck.
Today we're going to Dad's to read his meters and send in the readings etc and I'll also take up the shopping he requested. He seemed a bit brighter last night on the phone, maybe the carers going in every day are doing him good and he's now got a new cleaner too for once a fortnight. His old one seems to have retired so DD offered and they are both happy with that arrangement.
Later I want to get the spare bedroom back to normal but I don't think I'll be able to wash the bedding and put it out unless it dries up, but it can wait anyway.
Hope the poorly ones feel a bit better, especially TA, Camelot and dp1's DGD.
Take care all
