Won Asda gift card, but no credit on it

Hi everyone,
I won a £250 Asda gift card in a competition run by Clarityn, but when it arrived I discovered that there was no balance on it according to the Asda and George websites.
I emailed the person who had originally messaged me to say that I had won, and they have asked me to leave it with them to try and sort it out.
It's a great prize and would help me out no end, but I feel bad about pushing to get it sorted. It didn't cost me anything, so it feels wrong to badger them about it.
Has anyone else had this kind of problem.
Thanks for any advice.
Mandy

Asda should be able to track down any money added to or removed from the card, so it shouldn't be difficult for the problem to be correctly resolved.

Had several for another supermarket and one had not been loaded - easy thing to do and was quickly put right (5 out of 6 were loaded correctly)2

You won the competition, the promoter has a legal responsibility to supply you with the prize. Don't feel bad or like you are 'pushing' for wanting to receive what you have been promised. Be polite, of course, but be as firm and tenacious as necessary. Asda are a multi-million dollar international corporation, £250 is nothing to them - plus they got all the advertising, personal data, consumer engagement etc from running the comp, it's only right and just that you get your winnings. I'm sure it was a simple human error and will get sorted quickly.
Congratulations btw 🥳🎉🍀6 -

Thanks, everyone, for your comments.
It did get sorted quickly. Apparently, someone at their end didn't load the card correctly or something.
Either way, I now have £250 to spend!!
Thanks again.14 -
