Cleaning leather sofa, clean and feed spray

My sofas are a few years old. We have no pets, just the two of us and we've got several sofas made of real leather. I was using a spray, 750ml bottle but it seems it's not around anymore. I last bought the item 18/24 months ago. It's Stardrops, leather clean and feed. It left the sofas with a slightly dull finish as they should be and smelling fresher but not like leather. I've been looking for hours inc for other cleaners. However, nothing is as cheap or good judging by reviews. All help is gratefully received.

I use saddle soap. The last tin I got on Amazon, I think. Lasts for ages.
  • I use Wheelers natural leather spray. It says for all types of leather.

I used that before converting to the Stardrops stuff. This was not only a lot cheaper but miles better and did not leave that funny smell that Wheelers did. Thank you for your help.

    Many thanks to all.
Does saddle soap make the leather supple? What does it smell like and which one do you use, please.

The leather is 100% leather and I think slightly machined as we did not want the very soft leather that would not have stood up to the wear and tear over years and not as unifired as the one we have as this one is to a degree
  • Renapur is brilliant, you use very little and it lasts for years. I use it on sofas, shoes, handbags.
  • The last tin I got  is "TRG -The One".  It doesn't really have a distinct smell (at least I don't think so) but the tin has been open for ages. You apply it with a damp cloth, wait for it to dry and then buff it up.You need a bit of "elbow grease" to buff it up. It isn't just spray and wipe.

I use it on a Stressless chair. We did get a sample of Stressless cleaning products when we bought the chair and a friend, who also has a Stressless chair, said she thought it was the best leather cleaning product. It is so long since we got the chair I couldn't tell you what their cleaning wipes smelled like.

If you have an old fashioned ironmongers or saddlery shop near you it might be possible to go and smell their saddle soap, if smell is important to you.

The leather specialist on the Repair Shop uses saddle soap to clean and "feed" a lot of her projects and I saw them using it on " How Clean is Your House" years ago. It keeps the leather supple, after all it is designed for use on saddles!

Lots of videos on line on how to use it.
