Now hooked up to my ME3000SP and working. I'm sending this message using the electricity the Fogstar batts arrived with.Should charge gently overnight on Intelligent Go.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 34 MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.Ofgem cap table, Ofgem cap explainer. Well done! Seems a great way to add batteries for a competent person.0

I'll get some heavier cables eventually.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.

Today I got around to installing the Windows software and connecting my laptop to the Seplos BMS. I adjusted gthe cell capacity from the default 290Ah to 315Ah, per the instruction in the Fogstar build video. I also reduced the balance voltage differentials from 50/20 to 20/10, again as per the video.Everything's looking OK, I think.Edit: charging tops out at a nominal 99.0% SOC with a range of 40mV across the cells. Max 3.503, min 3.464, ave 3.489. BMS balancing might improve that a little, over the next few cycles.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Is the software Windows only?0

Grandad2b said:Is the software Windows only?I couldn't download it direct from Seplos (you need an account and I didn't try creating one) so I grabbed it from a Danish retailer's site. There might be versions for other OSs; try searching for "Seplos BMS Studio" and see what turns up.I think there's a version 3 but I'm currently using version 2.N. Hampshire, he/him. Looks like there are versions for Android and iOS...1

So I've just built one of their Seplos V4 kits. It didn't come with a manual so I had to watch the YouTube video several times and zoom in on some key frames to be sure, but it actually all went together really easily (You need some hex bits to unscrew the panels). It is really heavy so assemble it near its point of use!
There is a version 3 of the windows software which looks completely different to the version in the video, so it might be better to stick to version 2. I'm not sure you need the software though as most parameters can be set from the front panel.
I had to build a connecting mount to connect the Surlok cables I already had from my old battery to the M8 threaded connector on the back of the Fogstar. Then I just set it to Pylontech protocol, disconnected my old Pylontech batteries, reconnected the new Fogstar, connected the BMS cable , and off it went.
I could see no advantage in buying the A grade cells as the only difference between A and B is the maximum charge/discharge rate for the cells. House batteries almost never need this to be maximised, so B cells are fine.
The battery might be Bluetooth enabled - I haven't checked as its not important to me. Most useful data comes via the inverter.2 -
