Hello,

Has anyone managed to get the UserZoom app to work on Android devices to carry out user tests?

Every time I start, the app opens but then crashes not long after I've started. I've re-installed, tried on a different phone and get the same thing. Its very frustrating as there's so few studies that I qualify for and when I do the app crashes.

I emailed them 2 weeks ago and not heard anything back.

    Not much help to you unfortunately but I have exactly the same issues on my iPhone so its not just Andriod and I also never got a reply from customer service even when I'd half completed studies, now I don't do them on my phone at all and just use my laptop, hope you get it sorted.

    I've just had a thought, I'm based in the UK and I'm guessing you are too, I wonder if it's anything to do with that, sounds odd but who knows?

    Mine works ok, but (don't know if this is the usual way) I get the invite, click the link and the app opens itself.

    Its not like I do it.

    You do get a hell of a lot of 'screen outs' but no I'm not having any issues with the app itself.

    Yes that's the process I follow.

    The Android app has some very specific steps that need to be followed when accepting and completing a study. To prevent issues from occurring when testing on Android, please review the following guidance:
     
    • The Android home button/key:
      • Using the Android home button during a study may close the UserZoom study, please avoid pressing this button whilst testing to avoid any inconvenience. Please re-enter the study as soon as possible to complete it. Unfortunately, if you're unable to re-enter the study, this indicates that the study is now full or has been taken offline and you will no longer be able to participate. Please note, we cannot provide compensation for incomplete studies.
    • Disable Battery Saver mode while testing:
      • Battery Saver mode is great, but can impact uploading and testing on UserZoom. We recommend turning off Battery Saver mode manually using these steps:
        • On your phone, open the Settings app.
        • Tap Battery and then Battery Saver.
        • Turn off battery saver mode while testing.

    I follow the steps above as well it's just so glitchy, have fun with the Android instructions, and in case you're interested I also do Prolific, Userlytics and Userbrain with success on my phone and my laptop.
  • Yes, I've used Prolific and Usertesting on my Android phone without any issues. There is clearly an issue with the UserZoom app.
