First contact from lender...

I cancelled all my direct debit payments to creditors last week. I had my first contact today (yes, on a Sunday...) from Lendable to say that they are aware that my DD has been cancelled.
I have a payment due on 19th August and I MUST reinstate it to avoid 'collections activity'.
I am aware from previous advice that this is computer
generated and to just ignore. Still a bit disconcerting though, as its my first
one…
Thanks to all who have advised me so far and to those who will in the future. Much appreciated.

I have Dyslexia which is a learning difficulty that primarily affects the skills involved in accurate and fluent word reading and spelling so some post may not make sense.1 -

It's an automated message. "Collections activity" just means they aren't going to ignore it, they use that kind of phrase to imply the worst and try and put the fear of god into people to scare them into paying. Just ignore everything until they default you.1

Cancelling a DD triggers an automatic response message from the lender.
Billy, you will have to get used to collection letters/calls etc, as they will be plentiful.
You should also understand that they follow a process here, they term it "collection activity" letters ranging in threat level, until they default you.
Most are computer generated, and most you can stick in the recycle bin, the only ones to take note of are either a "default notice" or an "LBA", the rest are just spam.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. You soon get used to it, they sound a bit alarming at first but then you just think stop messing around and default me.1
