hi , i just wondered if anyone else has tried this for high blood pressure and what their views/reactions are.
i started about 2 weeks ago, and my bp did drop but i am a bit wary now cos i still seem to get some symptoms of high bp i.e. hot flushes , sweating etc , but my bp is a lot lower than it used to be.

hot flushes and sweating are not symptoms of having a high blood pressure. the whole point of hypertension is its silent nature - there are very few symptoms unless BP is sky high, in which case you get visual symptoms, headaches.0

my gp told me they wereNice to save.0

I'll leave that between you and your GP.
Point is that is your BP is now normal or at least normal-ish then the symptoms you are getting are not due to a raised BP.
I'd discuss with your GP0 -
since telling my gp, that i now take muktaviti, she seems to have distanced herself and not seems to be as concerned as she previously was, her attitude has changed towards me.
i was not expecting this, i had expected more support from her, but the opposite seems to have happened.
she now says to see her in 6 months, previously every 4 weeks and to have my choleserol checked every year.
this sounds odd, after i was rushed into hospital last year because of my high bp and enlarged heart.
it seems like she has turned against me for taking the muktavati instead of prescribed medication.
has anyone else had similar experience?Nice to save.0 -
When I want to check out whether or not a particular herb/supplement is likely to help any of my symptoms I use The Pubmed Database
You will find the individual ingredients of MuktaVati! listed here
But be aware that does not mean that combined they will have the claimed results or even that they are present in MuktaVati in effective amounts.
Checking your BP at home using Lloyds Pharmacy - Lloydspharmacy Fully Auto Bpm + Standard Cuff
and recording the reading on the Excel spreadsheet downloadable from Bypassoc should give you an idea if the Mukta Vati is lowering BP or not. They seem to have redone their website and I haven't time to find the link to the spreadsheet.
You put in your readings morning/evening for some days then you can click on a graph to see what the trend is over time.
I personally prefer to use substances that I know have a good track record (plenty of references at pubmed all pointing more or less in the same direction) that way you know you are more likely to achieve the result you want.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

thanks Ted,
Bypassocc link was very helpful
however i think i need a degree to understand what came up on pubmed database when i input high blood pressure.Nice to save.0 -
But even just reading the paper titles, and considering the actual number or papers, you may be able to deduce whether it is likely that this particular ingredient or that, may be thought to be possibly connected with the issue.rabialiones wrote: »thanks Ted,

Here are example searches using google scholar, this also searches through medical databases of research listings.
Results 1 - 10 of about 7,360 for hypertension vitamin d.
hypertension Mytilus margaritiferus - did not match any articles published since 2007
Results 1 - 3 of 3 for Inula Racemosus hypertension
Results 1 - 10 of about 3,780 for magnesium hypertension.
Results 1 - 10 of about 1,880 for omega 3 hypertension.
Results 1 - 10 of about 460 for hypertension refined carbohydrate
The fact that a lot of interest is being shown in some substances but either not been considered worthy of study or only very rarely has a medical researcher considered a substance may be worthy of investigation should give us a clue as to what researchers currently think MAY be interesting, worthwhile areas to investigate.
Now it may be unfair that Results 1 - 4 of 4 for hypertension Celastrus Paniculatus not many people are reporting/researching on Celastrus Paniculatur and it's relationship to hypertension. It may be a lot needs to be discovered but it may be that many medical researchers aren't interested in finding out.
Now I fully appreciate that having a paper published is not proof positive that something actually works or even operates as the researchers have suggested may be the case but it may give you a clue as to where the smart money is being invested. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program
