I don't understand why there isn't legislation to prevent the sale of cheap hot tubs that have useless insulation and just waste electricity. They are even being sold in supermarkets and either use huge amounts of energy or get thrown away when the owner realises how much they cost to run.

(Not a criticism of the OP as I have no idea about their circumstances.)
