so you make sure you have sufficient cash in your account to cover the IHT bill, then just leave the cars to family members.

If they want the cash instead I assume they will sell them anyway.

Looking at this from a non financial perspective, and with a husband who owns a practical classic, I hope you are not finding this too upsetting, and that your family get as much pleasure out of your cars as you have.  Good Luck
