I am going to the USA next week. I want to get a tom tom one when i am there, mainly to use on trips to the US and Canada. Has anyone done this?? Does anyone see any problems in doing this??? I was going to buy a UK card for it sometime, think they are easy to come by. Any opinions would help, thanks:beer:

I must admit I never saw tom tom's on sale while I was over there in September but I didnt really look for them I took mine with me.
As for buying a UK map and putting it in the US tom tom again no problem with that either. If they are cheaper over there then go for it.0 -
thanks for that, i can buy a tom tom one with the us and candaian maps for $150, works out about $162 inc taxes. Thought it was a good deal. :beer:0

There's lots of places selling them at this price, best buy, staples, target, circuit city etc. Got one last month. Might be worth getting a Tomtom ONE LE at Best Buy if they still have them, its basically the version 2 with the new software, the advantage being that it has the SD card slot, the disadvantage is that you can't use the RDS TMC traffic add on with it, depends which you want. If you regularly travel between UK/US the disadvantage with the 3rd edition is that it has 1Gb of internal memory, you have to remove the USA/canada(900mb) map to put on the UK(130mb)/Europe(900mb map, takes about 30mis to load the map on.0
