BLS Legal telephone number
Options
I am trying to contact BLS Legal by phone. They are the collection division of Lloyds Bank. There is a charge on our property from when I defaulted on my overdraft 15 years ago. I have found the CCJ reference number and want to speak to them about it. Ironic really. all the times I wanted them to ignore me, now the shoe is on the other foot. Talking to Lloyds is useless, no one seems to know anything, and eventually they gave me a postal address. I phoned them again to check and got a slightly different postal address!

Why not write to them to try and get it sorted?
Did you ever repay the debt to Lloyds?0 -

Have I paid it off? That is totally irrelevant unless I can prove I have, which I can't. I remember getting a call from a debt collector urging me to make a payment that would finish this once and for all, with one payment of about £1500. I made a payment with another debit card over the phone, it was about 10% of the total value. It sounded a bit fishy, not sure whether this actually cancelled anything, certainly didn't remove this big one as suggested. It was all such a blur and I was so totally stressed out, it felt like I was going over a cliff anyway. I didn't go over the cliff, I am still here. I have no idea if the amount was applied to anything. Hopefully it was. Hopefully people on here won't do anything silly like I did. I have always wondered about that payment, what it was all about, did it get credited. I was definitely misled, but was I completely robbed? How did the caller get all my details if they were not genuine? There wasn't anything like so much hacking back then.
The charge was put on by Sechiari Clark & Mitchell. That scary sounding name was used by Lloyds up to the point that the FCA introduced a rule that banks shouldn't used names that sound like law firms.0 -
Ain't going to happen ASAP is it?
You want them to check whether you have paid off a debt on which they put a charge on your home. How about flipping it around and proving to them that you did repay? the other alternative is to get in writing an amount they will accept to remove the charge - the third option is that the sale of your property fall through.0 -
Do you think by phoning you are going to speak with someone with authority who knows what they are doing?
Chances are you will get through to someone in a call centre maybe in this country maybe not and they will only know what is on their script. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.1 -
These things are best addressed more formally in writing, speaking to a call centre agent will not get you any further ahead with this matter, as it will be the legal dept. of said company that deal with charges etc, and a formal written request will be necessary.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. It turned out that final ownership or at least management lies with Link Financial Outsourcing. I spoke to them on the phone, and got through to a knowledgeable person. They sent me a settlement letter by email with payment details, and said they would handle taking the charge off the land registry once I paid them!0
