MSE Poll: Are you on a fixed energy tariff?

At the height of the energy crisis, 90% of households were on a standard variable tariff with prices dictated by the Energy Price Cap. But with the energy market slowly coming back to life and cheaper fixed tariffs available, we want to know if you've fixed - and if so, how long you have until it ends.

Let us know.

There should be an option to differentiate those who’ve only fixed electricity because they don’t have mains gas, and those that have mains gas and have chosen not to fix.
  • I have just signed up for a fixed rate with British Gas.The difference btn that and variable was +£2.00.In view of rumoured 10% increase have I done the right thing

You'll only know when we find out what next winter's prices are.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

No fixed tariff available from British Gas for those who choose to pay on receipt of the bill, and not by monthly direct debit. I prefer to pay for what I've used rather than pay in advance. I have had energy companies raise direct debits to unwarranted levels whilst my account was already well in credit.

I am with Eon, satisfied with them, but can't find a fixed tariff because we don't want direct debit or a smart meter. It is very unfair to penalise those who choose this way of life. Pledge tariff should be inclusive or a fixed tariff where you can pay on receipt by chq & don't want a smart meter - as yet? Any tips please?
