The first coffee of the day always hits the spot, now I'm ready for the day.Monday was pleasantly warm until the early evening. I had my meeting and deposited the TARDIS money at the bank. Once home I had to watch the diving which I'd recorded, it was riveting stuff. All the things out in the kitchen counter got sorted and I found a home for some unwanted items which I'll deliver tomorrow. Then I tackled the bag of logs left by the side of the sofa for too long. That entailed clearing out the big log holder of all the accumulated stuff. It was very satisfying.I watched too much of the Games and only got annoyed at once set of commentators who wittered on about nothing to do with the action. Others were much more immersed in the sport and gave fascinating insights to lesser known styles. My evening ended with exciting swimming events.Today will probably be 'rinse and repeat' unless I'm taken completely by surprise by a sudden outburst of sunshine. I hope that all our poorlies and loved ones are mending well.13

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
We've pinched your sunshine I think, sorry.
Yesterday was sunny, I got some washing dry which is good. It's great to have a break from drying inside.
Not much going on here, there'll be a parcel to pick up at a shopping centre nearby and we'll go to the quiz tonight.
Hope you're enjoying your holiday TA.
Thinking of all our poorly people, take care folks.12 -
Thanks for the start Gers
Has to be tea first for me.I’ve been dipping in and out of Olympics in between everything else. Shame about the triathlon postponement- I don’t think I’d want to swim in the Seine, or any major river…..or any river at all actually!Take DDad for physio and dropping off DMum at a friend’s enroute so she can have a change of scenery.Might try to paint some trellis later - depends how hot it gets.Take care all - especially those expecting hot temperatures

Morning allIt's going to be very hot today according to the forecast so not much will be going on here apart from some Olympic watching and maybe an ice cream while sitting in the garden reading my book. It's a hard life being retiredI'm going for a walk early this morning and will give the garden a good water before the sun gets on it.Hugs to all the poorlies and their families and have a good day all x11

Morning all
Looks to be another lovely day I have two people coming today one is off sick and still feeling the after effects of covid which she had a week or so back, I think we are planning the cinema today but will see what they want to do.
Dinner tonight will be ham egg and chips but I do need to stop and get some eggs at some point, washing is up to date for once and I will have a quick hoover round this morning.
No more news on MIL but we are hoping to hear something this week although I know how slowly these things work.
DP1 I hope there is positive news on little one today xx
Mehefin same for Mrs M xxx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning All
Lovely and sunny this morning although there are a few clouds about. Yesterday was warm but no sunshine. As it was breezy I washed the bath mats, they were dry really quickly and put back.
I've been baking this morning as DS1 and family are coming tomorrow - DGS always looks for oatie biscuits so I've made them (and a vegan batch for the little one) along with a sponge, will finish that with jam and cream tomorrow.
DD got her van back yesterday so she's happy, it was her birthday too.
I'll have to go pj shopping today for DGD as I said I would get her some for her birthday in a few weeks, she'll be a teenager at last. I bought her a silk dressing gown when I was away so will try to get some pjs to match.
Hope there's positive news for your little one dp1, Mrs M and Nanny.
Some digging was done yesterday, I'll do more later as we have a meeting for the new allotment this evening so could tie it all in together. I picked loads of peas yesterday that have been shelled and put in the freezer - always a treat in the winter.
Have a good day, take care. XX9 -
Morning all from a cloudy but warm Mehefinland
Well yesterday was a day and a half. Mrs M finally had her scan after the med team toing and froing all day. Eventually it came down to did she have a canula in her arm against all previous advice and risk kidney damage, or don't have it in the arm, but it in her leg as originally planned with even more risk to possible kidney damage. I got the feeling they really didn't know what was best and left it to us to make the decision. Of course it was difficult but the arm had it, and scan done in record time. I went down to radiography with her expecting at least a 30 min wait and she was in and back out in 10. Now we have to wait... again!
My lovely friend and her sons did the horses for me at teatime as there was no way I was leaving Mrs M on her own whilst this was sorted. Think I might have acquired a new stablehand!! It was just one less thing to worry about. I got home about 8 last night utterly exhausted, having been at the horsepital since 1.30. Just can't sleep though; was up and pottering around the house at 5 this morning, passing time until morning stables.
Scooby is still being funny about the scabs on her stomach. I caught her rubbing her belly on the grass this morning. So more Sudocrem applied although she was wet from the damp grass. Will check on her again shortly just in case it is something else causing the problem , like the horsekeeper's biggest fear ie colic. It would be just like it when I am already up against it, but they can't tell you and you have to read the signs and act accordingly. Good job I have the vet on speed dial if necessary.
I was given a rose bush for my birthday and it has just started to bloom, a very nice shade of yellow. Unfortunately I have no idea what variety it is as there was no label. I shall just enjoy it whilst I can. Just wish I could take it in to show Mrs M but these days its no flowers, and its a closed ward too.
Hopefully know more today.. Sorry to bare you all with my woes, but I find it helps to write it down and also I know that there will always be support from you, my virtual family.
Hugs and spoons as always. Hope you have a good day whatever the fates have in store...

Morning folks. A rinse and repeat of yesterday here - out on the decking reading, sun worshipping or inside Olympics watching. Another 25 deg is forecast.
Excitement of yesterday was the arrival of a herd of rare breed white bullocks in the big field. Handsome animals and of course some photos taken.
Thinking of all with poorly relatives and hopeful of better news soon. Take care in this heat xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning everyone
Cloudy here but the sun is meant to come out later.
Mehefin - I totally agree it helps so much to 'tell' everyone on here about little one.
She's not allowed out of her room now as she had diarrhoea yesterday. She is still being sick when they try to feed her through her tummy tube, DD said they might have to out a tube in through her nose today to feed her directly into her bowel as she is losing so much weight. This is how she was fed when she was a baby. She says everything the nurses try to do to her she is screaming at, even having her xrays which is a regular thing for her. She must be so frightened - it makes me feel so sad.
I think we can at last say she is starting to slowly recover from the meningitis, most of the problems now are to do with her feeding and her stomach. She is still really tired and sleeps most of the time and still has a headache, but DD says the light isn't hurting her eyes now and she keeps them open for longer.
I had a good chat with DD last night and I am going to go to eldest DDs on Thursday as planned, as she said there's nothing I can really do here, she will keep me updated every day as she is now. She doesn't expect little one will get out before next week anyways.
So this morning I have a pile of ironing to do ready to pack. I do have some clothes lying on little one's bed , just need to get properly organised. First I'm going to go down to DDs and finish weeding her front garden and then it won't be still to do when I come home.
Hoping everyone has a good day today x

Morning all..Mehefin, hopefully they'll come back with a diagnosis and a plan later on. Dealing with everything when your partner is sick is so stressful. dp1, glad to hear she is mending a bit, poor thing, she's had a lot to go through and you all have too. Gers, fingers crossed for sun for you today..maybe...hopefully...TA, hope you're enjoying the surprises at the van
Allie, good to hear he's getting better too if stubbornly. Nanny, hope you're proper resting in between cat wrangling your father, another stubborn so and so
camelot, nothing like eating your own stuff in the depths of winter, so satisfying! Ruby, coincedentally, that was my breakfast just now, well, some potatoes left over from last night and some cheap ham bits and bobs that turned out to be really hard but softened a treat in the frying pan..enjoy!
So the builders are here with a vengeance and yesterday being the first full day was spent running round making tea and bacon sarnies and clearing bits out from everywhere. I was so hot yesterday and being hot makes me angry so I was angry all day until I finally jumped in the shower at half ten [after cleaning, mopping, making space for things ot be moved, cooking supper etc ]and even the coolest setting wasn't cool enough. I didn't eat an awful lot yesterday , didn't have time, so that probably didn't help either, hence the very filling breakfast I've just had. Today is digging things up and smashing more down, so I made a rough curtain this morning for the kitchen to stop the dust a bit and covered the cooker and sink with my dust sheets [literally old sheets] I will have to sit mroe today because my foot is hurting but I've already viciously pruned the holly tree that was growing behind the garage which is now exposed because the poor bloke kept driving into it on his dumper thingy...First world problems eh? and self inflicted at thatAnyway, take care all, drink lots if it's sunny, lie in the bath if it's too much...
