Aci/my jar

Was wondering if anyone could give me any advice about a loan I took out with my jar, years ago, I'm being hounded by ACI for payment of £1212.40, I don't think the loan was as much as that, its saying that my account will be referred to TM Legal to commence legal proceedings against me or a home visit to verify it's me or if I contact them I can come to an arrangement to pay off the debt. They have the original creditor reference and my name is on the letter.
Any help would be great thanks.

OK When did you last pay it?
Don't worry about it being referred to TM legal or home visits they are just there to get you to phone them and then they will want you to pay.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -
Hi must have been 6/7 years ago before they went under.0

Is the default still on your credit file?
If not it may be statute barred.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Yes it's showing it went into default at the start of October 2018.0

If it's no and no then it looks like your debt will be statute barred as of this coming October. Hence the push to get you to admit something or make a payment to them of any sort.
Sounds like they're trying to put on the frighteners to get you to agree to a payment plan before the deadline. I suggest just writing back to them (snail mail only, no phones, texts or emails) and ask them to prove you owe the money and tell them you need the reply in writing. Go up to sourcrates post above and there's a link in his signature to the prove-it letter template.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. No never made any payment or discussed anything, since before that date. I'll do that, thank you so much, I can breathe a bit again.0

I'd be inclined to "ignore". This is so close to statute barred that there's a risk any engagement will encourage them to put the effort into getting a payment or acknowledgement from you.
Keep on top of your mail and come back if you get a letter before action. Threatening TM Legal isn't legal action, post from the Nottingham processing centre might well be.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thank you. Just got another email threatening wage arrestment and court proceedings.0

so your are in Scotland? The law is different, not least as after 5 years non-payment the debt is statute barred and the creditor can't chase. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1
