I have recently been made power of attorney for a family member and am finding it quite difficult to get access to their accounts online. Halifax you can only do in the desktop website. Barclay card I haven't managed to achieve online access yet I need to phone them to sort it out. Nationwide have forced my to open an account with them in order to gain access and I need to take a paper form into the bank to register. Banks could and should be doing much more to make this difficult time easier in the interest of all parties!

YesLloyds were very helpful - I could register the PoA over the phone by sharing a digital code to allow them to view the PoA electronically, and they then set me up with both online and phone banking and a debit card.0

NoI have POA. Lloyds wanted to see the original document. I had to take it to a particular branch.0
