Thanks for the start Scarlet.
I think I’ve been absent on and off, to be honest I barely know what day it is. Doing this now as once I get up, the day runs away with me.DDad is making good progress with his new knee but it’s made me realise how many things DMum can’t do; she had her ‘urgent-ish’ scan yesterday and has a telephone appt with the oncologist next week.
I think we’re due a few hot days so will have to pick the jobs I do as many of them on my list are outside. I’m also desperate to clear out a loft but that’s out of the question in hot weather.Anyway, I hope all the poorlies have a good week and everyone in the hot zone can stay cool.

Morning again, it's sunny here.
I need to go out this morning to collect tablets from the pharmacy, and this afternoon I'll be visiting an elderly friend nearby.
Think I'll put some washing in, it will dry ok today I think.
Hope you enjoy your holiday TA.
Thinking of those with poorly relatives, there seem to be quite a few at the moment.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, take care folks.12 -
Morning everyone I’m going to hang a line of washing out then I’m going to have a coffee and a catch up with my friend it’s very warm here already so there won’t be a lot done here today but there’s nothing spoiling. AA pleased to hear DD is getting on well with his knee it takes a while for full recovery with physio and doctor appointments so you are right to worry about your DM when she has things on herself it’s such a worry for you thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, enjoy the day ahead.
Overcast this morning and feels nice and fresh, yesterday got really warm with the glorious sunshine. Washing was dried outside and I tidied the back garden, it looks much better out there now as I've cut back a few things. It was really too warm to go to the new allotment, there's no shade there at all. I'll do that today along with watering the other veggies and checking for courgettes!
Hope the little one continues to improve dp1, sounds like she's slowly getting there.
Also hoping Mrs M makes progress and the docs get to the bottom of things.
Sorry to hear of your MIL's falls Ruby, hope you can get something sorted soon.
Have a good day, take care. XX

Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.After my long driving stint yesterday I was fairly tired, wolfed down my late lunch and settled in to watch some of the Games. Then two things happened. Firstly I got rather irritated at the amount of stuff in the little cubbyholes in the kitchen so pulled them it out onto the counter and almost immediately regretted it. 😀 Secondly, a friend sent me a text inviting me to a couple of drinks. 😀 So, I abandoned the stuff to have very pleasant evening and came home to a messy kitchen. 😀
Just 30 minutes after I arrived home there was a fatal motorcycle accident right at the start of the town (Glasgow end). Apart the horror of the death the road was closed for about eight hours which caused huge diversions. It's so sad. There was a huge number of bikers out yesterday, more than I've seen before.
Today I'll decide what to do with the mostly unwanted things, I have a brief appointment in town and want to take my coin collection to the bank. The report about no new 1ps and 2ps inspired me to empty the savings jar (well, it's a silver TARDIS) and bag it all up. It all amounts to just over £20, not that much but it'll go into my account. I'll also watch too much of the Games again whilst doing my weekly banking.Theres still a lot of the lovely chicken left, enough for at least three more meals and then stock making. I'll need to strip it today. My thoughts are circulating around MrsMehfin, DP1's little one, Nan and her dad, AA's DF, Ruby's MIL and all others who are poorly or sad.12 -
Good morning all
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Haven't posted for a few days. Went to the bereavement cafe last week, always find it emotionally exhausting and this hot weather seems to take what little energy I have.
Have defrosted my freezer this morning, long overdue job.
My thoughts are with Mrs Mehefin hope they can find out what's wrong, DP1 her Dd and little one, Nan, and Ruby's mil, sorry if I've forgotten anyone
Take care

Morning allGetting some jobs done early as it's going to be a hot one today. Finished weeding the half empty veg patch, back ache made me stop before I'd finished ityesterday. Watered the garden before the sun came on it. Put some washing on the line and now I'm going to clean the sink and draining board as it hardly ever looks nice and shiny because of the very hard water in our area. Then I'm going to sit down with a coffee and watch Tom Daley diving in the Olympics.Gers make sure you hide your Tardis if Susan Calman is in your area, she's mad on them!Sorry to hear of all the poorly relatives at the moment. Hope positive news is not too far away for them all xxHave a good day all x10

Morning all. Its scorchio already here.
Mrs M is not showing much improvement but horsepitals are usually quiet on weekends. Perhaps some action today. She was a bit upset yesterday as the person in the next cubicle had passed away in the night. The family had been called in and here was much wailing etc as you would expect. Think it scared her into thinking about her own situation. I can only do my best to reassure her that she's in the best place, but I do wonder if I am getting through sometimes.
Tried to cheer her up telling about the horses, and the mad scramble to get in to the stables out of the flies at lunchtime. Showman, who can be a bolshy beggar to catch cantered up the field and straight into his box as if tosay ' Thank God, let's get out of these flies'. This morning flymasks put on and liberal amounts of antifly stuff on Scooby as she seems to be the target for all the biting insects. It must be something to do with dark colours attracting as the other two are relatively unscathed.
My lovely neighbour and her family have offered to help with the animals. The boys age 13 and 16 were 'volunteered' to help with mucking out etc. but when I mentioned the time in the morning I do the first lot their faces dropped. I won't hold them to it, but it was lovely of them to offer. It was ,for, me, a case of having a safety net in case I have to decamp with Mrs M to the renal unit in Morriston which is over 40 miles away from here. I have given them a set of keys so they can get in at least. Mum has been over and helped before, and has started to ride again, so I know I can trust her not to do anything silly, and she is confident around the animals. Lots of people have offered help but you can't muck about with big animals, you have to know what you are doing, and be aware of the dangers. Also, the guys are wary of strangers ( particularly Scooby, who we used to call Scary Spice when we had 5 mares on the go).
My courgette plant ....isn't!! My gardening neighbour gave me some plants earlier in the year which she claimed were a courgette and a pumpkin. I put them on the muckheap like last year and forgot about them once they were established. What with one thing and another the nettles (which love the muck heap!) grew up and obscured them from sight. However yesterday as I walked past I noticed something odd - a gurt big yellowish fruit poking out of the foliage. So into the jungle I ventured to find the 'courgette' was sprouting said appendage. It looks like a large melon with rounded edges. Anyway it has been removed and sent back to gifter who brightly said something like ' well the label had come off so I didn't really know what it was'. I think its what they call a spaghetti squash. Way too big for me, so its rehomed.
Gosh, I written an epistle!! Hugs and spoons as always

Good morning, thanks Scarlet.Gers, that's so sad. I know round here road fatalities seem to be on the riseAs always sending good wishes and thoughts to the poorly people. We spent yesterday afternoon at our friends, they have a massive garden next to a golf course so it's very pleasant to sit outside. I left the gammon in the sc and dealt with it once we got back, then put it in the fridge for today. DH bbq' d some steak so we sat out to enjoy it.I've tidied the kitchen but things get dumped on the island that aren't mine - say no more, currently car cleaning paraphenalia! It's a lovely day again, hopefully I can get out for a walk.Take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
