DMP creditor

Options
I am on a DMP and it is working well. I have a small balance of £31.49 on one of my creditors. Is it possible to pay this off without affecting my DMP

Are you doing the DMP yourself or through an agency of some sort?

And is the creditor included in the DMP?

Frankly I think that if the creditor is NOT included in the DMP and you have the cash to clear that I would suggest you go ahead and do so.  If it's included and you're with an agency it's trickier but maybe talking to them will help you sort it out.

@Wendolina, do as want, its only a small balance, no one will notice or care what you do.

If you have monthly payments going to this debt, remove them as a creditor once paid off.

Hope your DMP provider is a free one.

I’m with Step Change and the creditor is listed on there amongst others. I’ve being on the plan for two years but for some reason, this creditor has started sending me monthly statements through the post which I do not want. I have rang them to ask them not to send them but they told me they have to as there is a balance. I’d just like to pay it off to stop the statements coming.

They are required to send periodic statements to comply with the consumer credit act, so they, and you, have no choice in the matter.
