Northern Rock mortgage

Listening to the news last night I was surprised to hear the item about the “mortgage prisoners” going to court. We took out a NRAM mortgage in 2006 and after the lender collapsed we were transferred to Landmark mortgages and have been with them ever since, luckily we’ve just managed to keep a roof over our heads. We also took out a linked unsecured loan and have had to deal with StepChange debt charity to make payments to that over the past few years. What should I do now? Is it worth trying to join the current claim? Should we now try and change lenders? Not really very clued up on finances unfortunately. Thanks in advance.

I dont know the details, but I think the peoplle suing are the people that went to a subsidiary of TSB, Landmark is not a subsidiary.
I think it is something to do with the SVR rate differing from their mortgages compared to TSBs - I could be wrong though.
Worth checking, but I think it is different to your situation.
Speak to a broker. It sounds like you are in a DMP but there are lenders who accept DMPs at rates probably lower than Landmark have you on.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
