I’ve been offered a job over a 10 month contract and need to calculate my take home pay. The salary calculator I use only calculates over a tax year. There is no full time salary to calculate pro Rata pay, this is a private arrangement. How do I calculate my take home annual/monthly/weekly/hourly pay the below over 10 months, from 27/08/24 - 27/06/25. Scotland

Gross Salary: £18,000 over 10 months, employer advises this is £16.60 gross per hour and £415 gross per week.
25 hours per week.

Your tax will depend on what you earned in the tax year before commencing and in the rest of the tax year after finishing as well as whatever allowable tax sacrifices you make (eg pension). Ultimately the only certainty is in the gross number.

If you're being paid £18,000 over 10 months, that's £1,800 a month. Yearly pay is therefore £1,800 x 12  = £21,600 and that's the number you need to put into one of the online calculators. It should give you both annual and monthly figures, but if it doesn't, either use another calculator or simply divide the annual figure by 12 to give you the monthly amount.

It may not be accurate if you've had no, or markedly different, earnings since 6 April 2024, but should give you a good indication.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Thanks so much, that’s really helpful to get a rough idea from a calculator. I could not think how to work that out!

Your first month's pay (and possibly the second month) could be a bit different to take account of any (or no) income earned so far in the tax year, but it should settle down at a constant amount after that.
