Are hotel bills tax deductable for a employee at his regular place of work?

Friends,
I am an IT contractor with my own little limited company. I am speaking to a client that is proposing making me an employee of theirs which, in principle, is fine. However, my normal place of work would no-where near I live so would require 2-3 nights in a hotel per week there - paid by me directly and not reimbursable. That is a lot of cash so I was wondering if those hotel bills are tax deductable? I've researched it and can see that sure, if I travel from place to place, different offices, etc then yes, but if this for my normal place of work, week in week out, would it still be OK? (I know the travel to and from is not.) Has anyone come across this before? Note: I have no other reason to ever be there so these costs would be "wholely" for work.
Many thanks.

under no circumstances would you, as an employee, be able to claim the costs of accommodation to avoid having to commute to your normal place of employment1

The bible is booklet 490. Here's the relevant excerpt:

Thanks.
where you choose to work and where you live in relation to that place is a matter of personal choice
why should the taxpayer fund your choice compared to anyone else who has to commute to work?

I agree with the other posters on this thread.
The only possible tax relief I can see would be if your new employer helped you with some of the costs of relocating you to live closer to your workplace. You potentially could receive this without having to pay tax on it.0 -
Get the contract written so your normal place of work is at home.0

You simply need to negotiate a high enough salary so the employer pays for all this - after tax!
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
