If you're a Wowcher customer, you could get a £4.99 refund over the next few weeks – but you'll need to act to get the cash. The online retailer is paying out a total of £4 million to 870,000 customers after signing them up to its 'VIP' subscription using a pre-ticked box on its website.

They are refunding because the CMA is looking into their practices.

However, the problem is that the VIP sign-up box only appears when you add in your contact details, and even then you can only see it if you scroll back up to the top of the page, so you're unlikely to notice the change in price unless you're looking.

Pretty shoddy behaviour.
