The limitation act allows 6 years for a lender to chase a simple contract debt, after that they can still chase the debt, and you must respond with the correct letter, as you have done.
The debt does not go away, all the act does is prevent legal action from being taken, they can technically still chase the debt, however more recent FCA guidance has stated lenders must take heed of a statute barred debts status, acknowledge that they are statute barred, and cease all collection activity.
If collection activity continues, make a formal written complaint, don`t engage further with anyone who may call on you, was it a Resovecall rep or similar?
They can be ignored, the more you rattle their cage the sooner they will desist.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
