The mediator will only speak to the defendant. But the call can be very short, you are offering nothing, the mediator will the put that to the claimant, they won't agree, mediator ends the call.

If your husband wants to offer £10, the mediator will the put that to the claimant, they won't agree to that either, mediator ends the call.

No need for anyone to get agitated, your husband will only be speaking with the mediator; he won't be speaking directly with the claimant.

That's it, then await the next stage in the process - please read The Template Defence Announcement's 8 Steps.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thank you. I didn't really want to do the phone call to be honest.

    Then dont do it .
There is actually no penalty for not doing mediation despite what the paper work says
All it will say is mediation not concluded and carry on to the next stage.

He nominates you then! Dunno about you but I'd love to do one of these farce calls.

    However, I'm with him:
I'm worried that he'll lose his temper on the phone call.  He already doesn't see the point in the phone call and would prefer to 'have it out' in court.
    Which is the RIGHT answer.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, we received a Witness Statement from Civil Enforcement today. Have glanced through it myself. I rather getting the feeling that they still don't have a concrete reason for the PCN to be issued.  It talks about the ANPR cameras capturing the car coming in, going out. We've never denied that we weren't using the car park! It talks about their signs. Unfortunately the signs are no longer there to look at. The Statement talks about obtaining a permit but doesn't say how or how they know we didn't?

Does Civil Enforcement use the same standard signs in all their car parks?

    Cheers again

Read the other two threads today with the template rubbish from Scott Wilson.

I'm more concerned that you must have a hearing order with a deadline for Witness Statements and you haven't mentioned doing yours, or the deadline?
