Security Clearance help

Hello,
I was wondering if everyone could shed some potential light on the problem I'm facing. I've been told by my manager(who was apparently told by someone in HR) initially that I don't have security clearance, following this I asked for clarification and the manager has informed me that HR told him that my clearance has lapsed and apparently he overheard someone else saying do you know why he allowed his SC to lapse. I'm very confused by this as my SC was granted in 2021 for ten years and suspect some form of deceit because after ringing up UKSV I've been told my clearance is valid and there are no issues, I'm very disappointed and stressed with this whole situation. My financial situation is good with no CCJs or anything remotely similar or any debt, I don't have a criminal record either. I have changed job twice in the company albeit internally and this most recent role I assume is triggering another check, I don't know if that means anything. Does anyone have any advice?

Double check you were granted the full ten years, sometimes it is granted for a shorter term.tsk27383 said:Hello,

Have you moved home recently? Do you work for a government agency or a contractor? If the latter then it could be that the contractor's internal processes require them to re-verify the clearance is still valid every 2-3 years? Why is your first reaction to suspect deceit?tsk27383 said:I'm very confused by this as my SC was granted in 2021 for ten years and suspect some form of deceit because after ringing up UKSV I've been told my clearance is valid and there are no issues,
Take a breath and ask them why they believe your SC has lapsed.tsk27383 said:I'm very disappointed and stressed with this whole situation.
Have you checked your credit files to make sure you do not have a CCJ you are not aware of? The most usual suspect tin that situation is a parking charge.tsk27383 said:My financial situation is good with no CCJs or anything remotely similar or any debt, I don't have a criminal record either.
Normally checks are required if one changes role, if responsibilities change within a role and contractors can have different internal processes as well, many will verify periodically, depending on their processes that could be every year or more.tsk27383 said:I have changed job twice in the company albeit internally and this most recent role I assume is triggering another check, I don't know if that means anything.
Ask your employer why they believe your SC is no longer valid.tsk27383 said:Does anyone have any advice?

If you have the documentation confirming cover for 10 years it's far more likely to be an admin error than any attempt at deceit.

Thank you both for taking the time to reply, it's just very stressful for me, HR have told my manager to essentially leave them alone and let them handle it. I've contacted the company vetting team whose contact details are on the SC clearance document and they have told me that I do have an active SC and BPSS and that they don't know who the individual was who said I didn't, I also contacted UKSV(again today) and they told me my clearance is still active and there is no notes on the record. It's just worrying me, maybe unnecessarily but if it was an admin error I don't understand why they didn't just communicate that with me on Monday.0

And yes the clearance is definitely for 10 years.0
