I'm not a fan of pressure cookers (everything comes out tasting the same!) and we don't have a slow cooker, so we always put ours in the oven on slow for hours (which is, I suppose, an old fashioned version of a slow cooker),...so of the two options I'd say slow cooker0

I've done it both ways and haven't really found much difference in the taste but the meat was more tender in the pressure cooker.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I like the slow cooker for stew/soup/casserole (I'm never quite sure what to call what I make!) I'm experimenting with lentils and beans to stretch the meat and so far everything has been absolutely delicious. I prefer the slow cooker for lazy reasons... I can just forget about it for one thing, and it's easier to clean than the pressure cooker, for another!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

I think it's best done in the oven tbh. Everything in the slow cooker tastes much the same to me, and while I love my pressure cooker for soups I find it makes the meat spongy in stews. If you cook it in the oven you get that nice brown effect round the edges and top which flavours the gravy, plus you can easily add different ingredients at the optimal time, like mushrooms or dumplings.Val.0
