Another client had a clear progression of Manager, Senior Manager, Head Of, Director, Director Of, CxO whereas another one had many small special purpose vehicles so you had Group CFO with a reporting line to the UK CFO who had two Deputy CFOs but reporting into one of them was the CFO of lifetime mortgages and into them the CFO of SPV 1. Everyone used the highest title they held rather than their day job title (CFO of Lifetime Mortgages was the FC of the UK insurance division)
The one that really confused me was one which created a new grading system whilst I was there, according to the intranet it was Customer Service 1-3, Technical/Professional 1-2, Manager 1-2 and Senior Manager but actually SM had 3 levels... why hide that fact from the general workforce?1
